Hey, how are you!!
I was wondering how many people are there who writes blogs every day!!
Do you have any idea?
I researched and come up with a figure of over 2 million posts per day only by the WordPress users. If I count total number of blog posts per day the number will go in billions.
This means roughly 100+ blog posts get published per second!!
That’s the huge number. Isn’t it!
This shows that the competition is too high and it is really tough to compete and stand out. But if you really want to become a successful blogger and want your blog to become successful you have to stand out.
The best way to do so is to optimize your blog better than others.
I am writing this blog on ‘SEO’ and I know this is a very highly competitive term as around millions of users must be searching this term on Google and there are very less chances to rank on top.

So now the introduction is done and let’s get into the topics we are going to cover in this article.

On-page SEO is a combination of 3 important pillars –
- Keyword Research
- Quality Content
- Page Design

- Keyword Research
As discussed above, keyword research is the most crucial part and you need to do it at the starting because you need to put the target keywords on your meta tags while optimizing the page.
Out of all the on-page SEO factors, keyword research is the one on which you should spend most of the time in doing research and learning.
Are you wondering that what will you do with the keywords after the keyword research?
Once the research is done, you need to write the content based on the selected keywords.
Also, update the keywords on headings and tags.
Keep in mind that you should always use your keywords smartly. Don’t just stuff the keywords in the content otherwise Google will take it as a spam and it will hurt your ranking.
Keyword stuffing is a crime in Google’s world!!
Therefore, right use of keyword in your content is equally crucial. So, take your time while writing the content and use your keywords carefully in order to make it meaningful and worthy to be there.
Actually, if you have put your keyword in your headlines, URL and meta tags, there is no need to stuff it every where as google understands what the searcher is actually searching for. It not just gives you the exact result but also gives the related results.
So, just focus on the quality of the article, your reader’s requirement and not on the keywords.
- Quality Content
Posting quality content frequently in another factor which help you to rank higher on Google search. However, the content you write should be fresh and unique.
Moreover, to make your content more attractive and user friendly, add more images, videos, infographics or motion infographics.
This makes your post unique and better than others and thus, the probability of ranking it higher eventually increases.
Frequent posting is important but keeping your post up to date is more important. No matter how many posts you publish in a month but how you optimize your post is what matters for Google.
There are some famous bloggers who posts 10 blogs in a year but still all their blogs are ranking on top because they kept there blog up to date and optimized them wonderfully.
You can also make your content unique and better by following these 10 effective rules to write the quality content and rank on top of Google SERP.
- Page Design
As we discussed in the starting of the article that there are billions of posts which get published every day on internet but why very few get noticed or rank on top of search engine results.
We have discussed some points which were very crucial but there is one more which help your readers to read the post with more clarity and pleasure.
Yes, you guessed it right!!
I am talking about the designing of the page/website.
When we say designing, we are talking about:
- Text fonts
- Page layout
- Page responsiveness
- Loading Speed
Text fonts are important because it gives reader the convenience and pleasure of reading.
Your article should have a proper spacing and each paragraph should be of just 2 lines. Lengthy paragraphs make the article dense and reader loses interest.
Layout of the page or the website is a very crucial factor as it helps your user navigate across the entire website.
Better UI and design help user to search the content easily.
The content should contain proper images, videos and infographics to help user understand the context easily and reduces the bounce rate.
The more time the user spend on your page indicates quality page and thus, Google gives you higher rank on search results.
This is one the important factor which Google monitors. Today, more than 80% users visit website through mobile phones.
Therefore, your web page should be responsive for all device: laptops, tablets and mobiles.
The page should be unorganized when someone browse it through phone. It should look attractive and easy to use.
Page Loading Speed
One of the most decisive factors for Google ranking.
Put yourself on user shoes and imagine if the webpage takes more than 10 seconds to get fully loaded.
Imagine how angry you will be!!
This is why Google monitors it so carefully and put this on priority. If the loading speed your page is high, you can never get rank on Google.
The speed is considered to be ok it takes less than 4 sec to get loaded.
There are many free tools like GTMetrix, Pingdom, etc. available through which you can check your website/page speed.
4. off-page seo
Now in this phase, you don’t have to do things within your website but to step outside in the web world.
Off-page is about increasing your page and domain authority by performing some actions.
How will Google test this?
- Domain Age
Domain age doesn’t matter much but it does!
Google sees how old your domain is and sometime it helps you to grab the top slot.
This is the reason you should try to buy the expired domain as their domain age will be more than the new domain.
There are 2 kinds of authority which Google determines –
- Page Authority
- Domain Authority
Page Authority (PA)
This depends on how authoritative your single page (a post or a product page) is. The higher the PA the better it is.
Domain Authority (DA)
This defines your brand. DA depends on how much popular your website is. Example: Amazon etc. When people know about you, Google understands that this is a brand and can be trusted.
There are many tools available through which you can check the DA and PA of your website or page.
It does not depend on how many backlinks you have created. But it depends upon the quality of the links.
Therefore, do not run for more backlinks or Google will mark it spam and your rank will go for a toss!!
Rather, try to create your brand value and make your domain famous. Try to generate genuine traffic so that the Google can trust you and will give you top slot on Google search results.
I hope the above points must have helped you understand a little about SEO.
SEO doesn’t require more efforts but it require smart efforts.
So, start doing SEO if you have not started yet and wait for around 6 months to get the result.
Just stick to basics and do quality SEO.
